Green rice terraces descend the valley in great steps, threaded by small paths and framed by palms and jungle. It is one of Bali’s most recognisable views.
Arrive early for cooler air and fewer visitors. You can take in the panorama from above or walk down between the terraces. It is touristy, but still essential on a first trip.
