Ubud is Bali’s cultural centre: temples, ceremonies, traditional architecture, craft workshops, galleries, markets, jungle and rice fields sit remarkably close together.
Begin at Ubud Palace, walk the central streets and market, step into small temples and leave time to observe daily life. Do not try to “see Ubud” in half an hour; allow at least half a day, ideally a full one.
