Taman Beji Griya Waterfall Temple — Melukat Ceremony

One of those places where Bali is not simply seen — it is lived.

Build a route

Beji Griya Waterfall Temple is a sacred place hidden among jungle, cliffs, caves and waterfalls. Visitors come not only for photographs but for Melukat, the traditional Balinese purification ritual with water.

The ceremony becomes a journey: participants wear traditional clothing, prepare offerings and pass through several stages of purification under local guidance. The route moves through a hidden canyon and cave to sacred springs and two waterfalls.

One stage is associated with releasing accumulated emotion; the next symbolises accepting positive energy and joy. Further purification and a blessing complete the ceremony.

This is an active sacred space used by local worshippers, so arrive with respect for its rules and spiritual meaning.
